WinJur helps law firms and in-house legal teams manage their practice. Currently, midsized law firms, smaller firms, and solo practices constitute the most significant part of WinJur's customer base. WinJur® 2019 is compatible with: Windows 10 (32Bit or 64Bit) Windows 8.1 (32Bit or 64Bit) Windows 7 (32Bit or 64Bit). Additionally, WinJur works with the following Office versions (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote): Office 2016 (32Bit or 64Bit) Office 365 (32Bit or 64Bit) Office 2013 (32Bit or 64Bit). WinJur® Enterprise supports Microsoft SQL Server Version 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, 2016.
Yes, you may download our WinJur Starter Edition. It is free and fully functional (you can also test it on a network). You can use this version with up to five (5) clients and/or cases.
You may use the WinJur free version as long as you want. The only limitation is in the number of clients and/or cases (five).
No, you don't need to download or reinstall anything. Once you purchase WinJur, you will receive your license keys which will remove all limitations of the Starter Edition. Also, your database (e.g., clients, matters, contacts, etc.) will remain in place.
WinJur Personal and WinJur Workgroup Editions use the Microsoft Access database format (MS ODBC/MDB). The Personal Edition can be used by a single user only, while up to five (5) colleagues can use the Workgroup Edition on a network. WinJur Enterprise Edition uses Microsoft SQL Server for the database. This version is a full client/server application that delegates most of the work to the SQL Server. Yes, you can use WinJur on a network. The Professional Edition supports up to five (5) users (MS ODBC/MDB), while the Enterprise Edition has no limitation (MS SQL). If you plan more than five (5) users, we strongly recommend the Enterprise Edition, that runs as a real client/server application. Some of our customers have over 250 users on a single SQL server.
WinJur saves all the data in a single database. Documents are stored in the WinJur documents folder (usually in your "Documents" folder on your file server). Outlook emails are copied and saved as documents, but you can still view them from your Outlook too.
Usually, it is enough that you include all folders (with their subfolders) from: C:\Users\[user]\Documents\WinYou Law\*.* WinJur Database: C:\Users\[user]\Documents\WinYou Law\Database\winyoulaw.mdb WinJur created or imported Documents and Emails: C:\Users\[user]\Documents\WinYou Law\AutoDoc\*.* (Make sure that you include all the subfolders!) WinJur Microsoft Word Templates: C:\Users\[user]\Documents\WinYou Law\Templates\*.*
You can easily drag and drop documents or emails to WinJur relevant folders. If you want a better alternative, you may use our Mailtransfer extension (currently only in MS ODBC/MDB versions). With Mailtransfer, you can send emails and attachments straight from your Outlook interface to WinJur folders.
You may open every template in the MS Word, and edit it from there. You can locate them here: C:\Users\[user]\Documents\WinYou Law\Templates\ Likewise, you may add your templates by saving them in the WinJur template folder. You can find more details in one of our user manuals.
WinJur was developed in Visual C++ (same as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.). We use Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 with MFC (native).
